American Film Institute 100 Years 100 Movies

For some reason I thought it would be fun to watch the 100 best movies of all time according to the American Film Institute.

First on the list is Ben-Hur: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052618/

I've never actually watched Ben-Hur before so the first one on the list is a new one. I know there is a chariot race, so I am looking forward to that.

I finished watching it, that was one long movie. It was pretty good, Charlton Heston was Charlton Heston. Kinda stuck out in the crowd, but that's his job I guess. The chariot race was cool, the Jesus stuff was well done. I liked it.

I have a link to the list on the bottom of this post just in case anybody else is interested in giving this a try. There are a lot of movies on this list I haven't seen, and I'm going to re-watch the movies that I have seen. I'm going to write up a quick little review for every movie on the list. After Ben-Hur is Toy Story, it's been a while since I've watched that one, so I'm pretty excited.

Playing fetch with Dash

Jaden wanted to see Dash playing fetch, so here it is. It's not the best video ever, but it does show how much Dash loves playing fetch. Presley makes a brief appearance as well chasing some ants. :)

Bushes

I finally got around to putting some edging around the three new bushes I planted in the back yard and put down some mulch. It's the nicest day of the summer so far, even though it's 92 degrees and sunny, its breezy and not as humid as it has been, it's perfect. I think it looks pretty good, and it should provide some privacy in a few years, but that isn't the point of them anyway. It was just something to have next to the patio. I decided to try to grow some grass in between the edging and the patio as well, we'll see how that works out. All of a sudden yesterday one of the bushes turned golden. While it looks kick ass, it's not good. This is the newest of the bushes, and it has received the same amount of water as the others. I watered it really good the past couple days, it better recover that thing cost me $17. :)

Sonic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last weekend Heather was in Target and overheard someones conversation that they were going to drive down to Sonic that night. We've never had a Sonic here in Michigan, and I've always wanted to go. I admit it, I really like fast food. Especially fast food that isn't everywhere. Hardees, Fatburger, and White Castle are a few that come to mind. Although I have lived about 300 feet from a White Castle for a few years, it's still great, especially at 2:30 in the morning. After Heather overheard this she told me about it and I went to the Sonic website. They didn't have anything listed and the closest Sonic was still 122 miles away in Indiana somewhere. So I did some more searching and apparently a Sonic had just opened in Southgate and their website didn't reflect this change yet since they hadn't had their grand opening yet. We made plans to go next Saturday. Well, we went. :)

Right before the trip to Sonic:
